GNRC 10th Anniversary
From a Wondering Child to a Committed Young Adult:
The Story of GNRC and Myself
When you have the chance and the privilege to mould the new generations you have to be very careful, but at the same time very daring and effective. This is what working with the GNRC has taught me. I was the first child to represent the Arab States Region in the ‘Child Core Group Meeting’ in Florence in 2004. I was 17 at the time and was thrilled to meet other children and brainstorm an action plan for a whole global network working for the wellbeing of all children.
I do remember Mr. Fujita, Arigatou Foundation Secretary General, asking us to request what we thought was necessary to do for the children of the world. I can’t describe enough how empowering that simple question was. From that time on, I knew that by committing to the work of GNRC, I can contribute to empowering other children and youth. This exactly what has been happening for the last 7 years while I got involved in different GNRC Initiatives. My involvement with the GNRC has been a journey that is full of faces, voices, change and empowering experiences, a journey that had led me to realize my potential and my purpose in life. Therefore, I’m still involved in youth work as I coordinate the Ecumenical Youth and Children Empowerment Program in Jordan.

The GNRC has been my second family, within which I could find support, guidance, and understanding. I will always be committed to this network because, above all, it’s a network of faithful, good-willed people who seek the benefit of the very young and forgotten, yet the very fertile soil for effective change; Children.
