GNRC 10th Anniversary
Quantifying the Impact of the GNRC

Between 2000 and 2009, there were a total of 205 major GNRC events, which brought together 39,049 participants, including 21,671 youth under age 18. Participants came from 86 countries and represented 13 major religious traditions.

These three graphs show the development of the GNRC in its first 10 years.

The statistics used here are based on the official reports submitted by event organizers. To allow the graphs to portray the overall trend more clearly, they exclude participants from notable large-scale GNRC campaigns such as the South Asia Ethics Education Campaign which reached 10,000 youth in 2008 and the Young Peace Ambassadors' Project in Africa which involved 10,000 youth in 2006. The figures also exclude the many tens of thousands of people reached via media efforts such as the children's radio prayer for the Day of Prayer and Action for Children in 2008 in Brazil and the child-rights radio project in Eastern Africa.
